So I may or may not have spent an hour looking at wedding dresses today instead of studying.
WAIT! I know what you're thinking, and you're wrong.
No, there is nothing in my life that is leading or even so much as hinting at that in the upcoming future. I haven't been dating anybody, nor am I dating anyone right now--just so we clear that up.
This may be splitting hairs, but my title is wedding hungry--not marriage hungry, and I think there is a difference. Since wedding season is right around the corner, naturally I start to think about what I would do...(or maybe that's not so natural...) It's just fun sometimes, if not borderline pathetic. My problem is that the more I think about it, the more specific I get, which will only lead to disappointment when I can't find the exact color or decoration. I can be pretty perfectionistic sometimes--(future bridezilla perhaps...? Gosh, I hope not.)
So as I said, it's wedding season. The engagement announcements with couples gazing in each other's eyes or peeking behind a tree (<--romance, what?) start flooding in and covering the refriderator; high-pitched conversations, with giggling of course, start bubbling all around; my facebook homepage accumulates those hearts as a visual cue (in case I couldn't read) that so-and-sos are engaged or married; etc. It's just such a blissful time, isn't it? :P
But really, it doesn't bother me anymore. I used criticize that "this person is so cliche," or "ha, what an awkward engagement picture" or "her dress is tacky" or "they hardly know each other--good luck with that..." But who am I to judge? Yes, they may do things a lot differently than me, but if they are in love, it doesn't matter how awkward their pictures are or how unflattering her dress is. I've noticed that weddings are just so happy despite all of these things I may disagree with. Sometimes I think we just need more love in the world, and it's nice to see so many people celebrating that fact.
That's why I like weddings.

"you're just stalling now"
So there is this rumba that I really like. It's Karina Smirnoff and Slavik Kryklyvyy (yeah, try saying that one...) in 2004. Youtube Karina and Slavik rumba, and it should be the first one. Anyway, the song is called "Cuando Te Beso." The song they dance to is instrumental, but there are actual lyrics to the song. When translated from Spanish to English, something is lost. The metaphors sound awkward, the language is a stretch, but it sounds beautiful in Spanish. My favorite line is: "cuando me besas se prenden todas las estrellas en la aurora"
"When you kiss me, all the stars are lit at dawn."
I can't wait for that feeling.
Maybe someday.

Wednesdays
I've hated Wednesdays ever since 8th grade when my church reorganized boundries and Brittany and I were no longer in the same ward with Dylan. That made Wednesday youth nights a whole lot more fun. Once it was over, Wednesday went back to being the "I-can't-believe-it's-only-the-middle-of-the-week" day. Age 14 was my only girly crush phase. I was pretty ridiculous and my family and friends let me know, but nothing they said could convince me. Don't worry though, I grew out of it soon in my own time. I always do things in my own time. I had one more slightly less immature crush on another boy, but ever since then (age 15), I've never had a legitimate crush on anyone that lasted more than a week. Yeah I've definitely met people that I'd love to get to know, but I don't waste time on things that are unlikely to happen. I learned that at the ripe old age of 15 when my heart was crushed by unsaid crush. Tragic, yes, but I moved on. Now I never hang out with anyone long enough to develop feelings for them. It's just a waste of energy, and I often feel like Tom in 500 Days of Summer in the Reality vs. Expectations scene. Everytime I work things up in my mind, make little things mean big things, hold on to the slightest inklings of anything, and it always does...well, nothing because it was nothing in the first place. Err go: I always feel awkward in girl talk because I'm severely lacking in experience to contribute.
Meh. That's life.
Meh. That's life.
